(March 15th marked 14 years since my first day of massage school out in Port Townsend, WA. I spent a little time reflecting on what I’ve learned from having my hands on countless bodies of all different shapes, sizes, and levels of health over the years. In random order here are some of my observations and things I wish my clients knew.)
#8 Sometimes … farting happens.
The last couple of day’s posts have been a little heavy so I thought we’d lighten it up today.
Release comes in many forms on the massage table and yes, now and then you might pass a little gas. Most people giggle a little and give me a warning, and I often giggle too. And then we let it pass, and move on, so to speak.
Other ways the body lets go? Laughing; crying; burping; deep exhalation of breathe. I’ve even had people need to run to the bathroom in the middle of the massage. Whatever happens, you’re normal. I’ve probably seen it all before.
