How To Be a Good Massage Therapist

In body positive, CT, Essential Oil, Manchester, Massage, meditation, Music, reflexology, self care, studio on main on March 16, 2026 at 2:13 PM

Recently we talked about ways to be an ‘amazing client’.

Just as I’ve shared how you can be thoughtful and mindful of our professional relationship, I hold myself accountable too.

As I’ve asked you to do, I show up early for appointments so that I can be grounded and ready to support you in your healing journey. I am showered and clean. Hands are washed and sanitized before and after each session and street clothes are separate from work clothes.

I’m interested in your needs and requests and respond to the best of my ability. Do you want a specific music channel? I’m happy to change the tunes for you. If you prefer silence throughout the session, I’ll follow your lead. And if you need to chat a bit to unwind from the day, I’m a great listener.

Beyond common courtesies I also follow all licensing and professional organization requirements. There are continuing education units that I am required to meet each year which means I am constantly being introduced to new techniques and taking refresher courses on ethics and standard practices.

Recently I’ve tapped into information about tuning forks and how bringing balance to the nervous system and our energetic bodies can promote healing in the physical body. Next week I’ll be taking another class on reflexology and look forward to bringing some fresh energy into the techniques that I already employ regularly.

Please be in touch when you’re ready for your next session. I look forward to working with you.
