How To Be a Good Massage Therapist

In body positive, CT, Essential Oil, Manchester, Massage, meditation, Music, reflexology, self care, studio on main on March 16, 2026 at 2:13 PM

Recently we talked about ways to be an ‘amazing client’.

Just as I’ve shared how you can be thoughtful and mindful of our professional relationship, I hold myself accountable too.

As I’ve asked you to do, I show up early for appointments so that I can be grounded and ready to support you in your healing journey. I am showered and clean. Hands are washed and sanitized before and after each session and street clothes are separate from work clothes.

I’m interested in your needs and requests and respond to the best of my ability. Do you want a specific music channel? I’m happy to change the tunes for you. If you prefer silence throughout the session, I’ll follow your lead. And if you need to chat a bit to unwind from the day, I’m a great listener.

Beyond common courtesies I also follow all licensing and professional organization requirements. There are continuing education units that I am required to meet each year which means I am constantly being introduced to new techniques and taking refresher courses on ethics and standard practices.

Recently I’ve tapped into information about tuning forks and how bringing balance to the nervous system and our energetic bodies can promote healing in the physical body. Next week I’ll be taking another class on reflexology and look forward to bringing some fresh energy into the techniques that I already employ regularly.

Please be in touch when you’re ready for your next session. I look forward to working with you.

20 things : video 3

In body positive, Manchester, Massage, meditation, self care on August 23, 2023 at 4:17 PM

[IF YOU’RE SEEING THIS VIA EMAIL – GO TO MY WEBSITE TO SEE THE VIDEO. AND IF YOU KNOW HOW TO HAVE A VIDEO SHOW UP IN THE EMAIL – I’D LOVE SOME GUIDANCE. :)]

It’s been twenty years since I graduated from massage school! Can’t believe how fast the time has gone by. I’m going to share twenty random things in several different videos. Could be about school itself, things your massage therapist wants you to know, self care practices to try at home, things I’ve learned, etc.

This is video three. I did this once before when it had been 14 years and shared the reflections on this website as written posts. Just type ’14 things’ in the search bar and they’ll pop up. I’d love to see you soon. You can click ‘Book Now’ under the Massage tab and find your way to your next appointment. :)

These are
a handful of recent reviews
from massage clients.
It always fills me with a
sense of purpose to know
that an hour spent together
can shift the outcome of your day.
Holding safe space, being present,
creating a respite,
hoping you feel heard and
witnessed . . .
these are things I like to do.

You can schedule your next massage appointment by going to the MASSAGE tab and clicking the BOOK NOW button. See you soon! :)

Neck Massage

In CT, Indulge, Manchester, Massage, meditation, Refresh, self care, Uncategorized on October 20, 2021 at 2:37 PM

Did you know that the average head weighs around 11 pounds? That’s a lot to carry around and be supported by only 7 vertebrae on your neck. Regular therapeutic massage can help ease some of the tension and pain that is often held in the neck muscles . . . and it feels good. 🙂
